Research On The Inheritance And Protection Of Dragon Boat Festival Custom In QuYuan’s Hometown

The Dragon Boat Festival is one of the four traditional Festivals in China,among which the custom of The Dragon Boat Festival in QuYuan’s hometown is the most characteristic.The Custom of Dragon Boat Festival in QuYuan’s hometown is popular in Yichang city and Zigui County,Hubei Province.It is a living witness of the ancient Chu culture and the history of Dragon Boat Festival etiquette and customs.Under the leadership of the two core themes of “Rmembering QuYuan” and “Driving away evil spirits and evicting harm”,it has rich festival connotation and was selected in the first representative project list of national intangible cultural Heritage in 2006.In 2009,the Dragon Boat Festival was nominated and successfully selected into the representative list of intangible cultural heritage of mankind,along with the Shenzhou Festival in Huangshi,Hubei Province,the Dragon Boat Festival customs in Miluo River,Hunan Province,and the Dragon Boat Festival customs in Suzhou.This paper takes the vertical inheritance of the Custom of Dragon Boat Festival in QuYuan’s hometown as a clue and studies four aspects.The first is the historical evolution of the Dragon Boat Festival custom in QuYuan’s hometown.The historical evolution introduces the cultural habitat of Zigui and sorts out the origin of the custom of QuYuan’s hometown.The origin of the custom of Dragon Boat Festival in The hometown of QuYuan is divided into three stages: the initial development period of Wei and Jin Dynasty,the trend of shaping period from Tang and Song dynasties to Ming and Qing Dynasties,and the new development period since modern times.Secondly,the cultural connotation and value expression of the Custom of Dragon Boat Festival in QuYuan’s hometown.In the historical evolution,the connotation of the Custom and culture of The Dragon Boat Festival in QuYuan’s hometown has been constantly enriched,and finally the six major cultures of food culture,decoration culture,medicine and health culture,entertainment competition culture,sacrifice culture,and other cultures were formed.On the basis of summarizing the origin and cultural system,the author holds that the custom of Dragon Boat Festival in QuYuan’s hometown has five values of history,culture,spirit,society and economy,and these five values are also the basis for the inheritance and protection of the custom.The third is the status of the inheritance and protection of Dragon Boat Festival custom in QuYuan’s hometown.Through literature review and field investigation,it is found that the inheritance and protection of the Dragon Boat Festival custom in QuYuan’s hometown has achieved remarkable achievements,and the inheritance and protection atmosphere of the Dragon Boat Festival custom and the brand of the Dra-gon Boat Festival culture festival have been preliminarily established.However,there are still some problems such as imperfect policies for inheritance and protection,insufficient digitalization,lack of funds and talents,strong commercialization atmosphere of the Dragon Boat Festival and weak brand influence.Finally,the reflection on the inheritance and protection of Dragon Boat Festival custom in QuYuan’s hometown.By analyzing the thinks of QuYuan’s hometown Dragon boat festival custom inheritance protection problem has two reasons in-side and outside,in the hometown of QuYuan is proposed on the basis of reason analysis dragon-boat festival custom heritage protection should be combined with various strength,formation of governmentled academic,business,news media and the public to actively participate in coordination with the final secularization in public,establishing public cultural confidence and cultural consciousness,Forming a benign situation of protecting and inheriting Dragon Boat Festival customs.In short,the inheritance and protection of the Dragon Boat Festival custom in QuYuan’s hometown is a good practice of the festival intangible cultural heritage and provides another example for the inheritance and protection of the festival intangible cultural heritage.By analyzing the practice of inheritance and protection of Dragon Boat Festival custom in QuYuan’s hometown,this paper discusses the inheritance and protection of festival intangible cultural heritage.
