| Antonio Gramsci is the most famous Italian Marxist theorist and one of the early representatives of Western Marxism.Gramsci inherited and creatively developed the philosophy, political theory and revolutionary practice of Marx,Engels and Lenin, applying these theoretical and practical achievements to the major political problems of his own era, thus creating a new way of thinking of Marxist revolutionary practice and ideological struggle.Gramsci’s political thought provided strong impetus for the development of Marxist theory, and has long-lasting vitality in various fields such as world philosophy, political practice, and cultural research. The unique academic innovation of this research lies in paying attention to the direct use of the original Italian text, making the latest Italian academic literature on Gramsci’s thought the essential basis, comprehensively adopting the methods of literature research, historical analysis, comparative analysis, text chronological analysis, etc.,and focusing on the following two aspects to systematically discuss the contribution of Gramsci’s "leadership" thought and its contemporary enlightenment.Firstly, the paper focuses on exploring a series of important concepts in Gramsci’s political thought, namely hegemony, passive revolution, philosophy of praxis, integral State and so on.The paper uses the latest scientific literature in Italian to systematically discuss these concepts, adopting the new methodology consistent with the philological accuracy required by the current scientific standards, thus paying attention to follow the time sequence of the composition of Gramsci’s notebooks.Firstly, this research carefully analyzes the elements of the concept and practice of hegemony, especially the two constitutive aspects of leadership and domination. As for the current Chinese translation, the redefinition of the semantic space of the term "egemonia" is thus the unavoidable starting point.Secondly, the paper points out that the concept of passive revolution is another specific historical form of hegemony,a concept which academic value within the Chinese scientific literature has been greatly underestimated. Finally, the paper also criticizes some common misconceptions regarding the concept of hegemony, such as considering hegemony as only appearing in a civil society isolated from the State, and only having a pure cultural function, thus having a purely superstructural nature.Secondly, the paper analyzes Gramsci’s understanding of the relationship between domestic and international politics,as well as his extensive application of the concept of hegemony in international problem analysis. In the context of globalization,Gramsci’s ideas provide an important perspective for us to analyze the mutual influence between domestic politics and international relations in the process of globalization.Firstly, this article explores Gramsci’s unique expression of the relationship between the State, domestic politics, and international relations, which inevitably includes critical analysis of important terms such as "hegemony" and "leadership".Secondly, this article analyzes how the New Gramscian School borrowed Gramsci’s ideas on the relationship between hegemony, domestic politics, and international relations, and further applied these viewpoints. This article attempts to critically explore both the value and the shortcomings in the latter usage of Gramsci’s thought.Based on Gramsci’s thought, this paper uses literature research and case analysis to carry out research on this topic.Through a critical review of its application in the study of international relations,Gramsci’s work help analyze and understand some challenges of the present global situation, thus potentially helping to make more effective response to the problems arising. The concept of hegemony to which Gramsci gave theoretical depth could be useful to left-oriented forces in the West,to develop an independent political initiative to resist the dangerous political influence of bourgeois ideologies, but also from a Chinesecentered point of view,Gramsci’s concepts, with all their nuances, may help to better analyze the capitalist globalization and the internal political development of western society, while protecting China’s perspective from the influence of western ideology. |
