Research On The Image Rhetoric Of Pet Documentaries

Documentaries use an unpretentious way to convey true and moving stories.It also reflects certain phenomena in the society.Animal-themed documentaries not only have the documentary property of receiving animals,but also should have humanistic care.This paper combines the graduation work "They and Me".Close contact with solitary young pet families and stray animal rescue center.The title "They and Me" has a dual meaning:The surface meaning is the pets and their owners,Deep meaning analyzes the emotional connection between human and animal species,explores the relationship between animal and human,the emotion between animal and human,the plight of stray animals and so on.Make people ponder and discuss,hope to show the thinking of life,emotion.Any excellent documentary work must have some style characteristics and symbolic significance,and its rhetoric language shows its uniqueness.From the perspective of image rhetoric,this paper makes a creative interpretation of the pet documentary "They and Me",and discusses how to present the relationship between pets and humans and tell emotional stories in the documentary by using image rhetoric devices such as anthropomorphism,contrast and blank space.Combined with the application of the audio-visual language such as close-up shot,montage and simultaneous sound in the creation of the film,this paper analyzes the role of image rhetoric in the audio-visual language of pet documentaries.
