The protection of stray animals is a long-term social problem. On the one hand, the homeless animals’living conditions is not optimistic, they have to face hunger, cold and hot weather and killing of man. On the other hand, due to the problems encountered in the fund, manpower, material resources, social support and other aspects, the development of the non-governmental stray animal rescue organization is very slow. Yixin stray animal protection organization is Kunming’s largest stray animal rescue organization. After 9 years of development, they had formed a relative perfect system and a operating mechanism. But they still have to face the social question, the huge spending and the provocation from puppy mill. This film records the status of Yixin, including their achievements, difficulties and attempts to solve the problem. Making this film aims to veritably show the non-governmental stray animal rescue organization to the public. I also want to arouse people’s attention to the issue of stray animals, and make them re-examine their own pet feeding habits and the value of life.During the material collection period (September to November), I followed the founder and volunteers of Yixin to their base dog hill with my camera. I recorded their daily work, they rescued dogs and helped owners to look for their dogs and so on. Among them, I saw the difficulties which they had to face. But I also saw that they were trying to find a solution. Besides, I received many unexpected materials, which made a lot of rich content of my work.I hope that through my records, more people could aware that the issue of stray animals requires not only the attention of welfare individuals and organizations, but also each of us. And I would like to apply for a master’s degree in Journalism and Communication.
