Mukden Medical University is the most influential college of Western medicine in modern Northeast China founded by British missionary Dugald Christie.As the cradle of modern medical talents in Northeast China,Mukden Medical University has been running continuously for half a century,making great contributions to the development of Western medicine in modern China.Mukden Medical University was developed from Shengjingshi Hospital and officially became the first medical university in Northeast China in 1912.Meanwhile,its predecessor was its medical school and affiliated hospital.Its development mode was closely related to its founding motivation.Stuckhouse always creates an atmosphere of Christian missionary activities.Chinese people greatly improved their understanding and recognition of Christianity and Western medicine,which made great contributions to the development of modern medicine and the spread of Christianity in Northeast China.This paper aims to analyze the specific historical contribution of Mukden Medical University and make a summary evaluation through the collation and research of its establishment background,development history and school-running characteristics.This paper takes Mukden Medical University as the research object and studies it through the following four parts.The first part is the Christian medical missionary in Mukden,which mainly discusses the Christian missionary background before the establishment of Mukden Medical University.The second part is about the establishment of Mukden Medical University,which mainly summarizes the reasons,preparation stage and basic situation of Mukden Medical University.The third part discusses the characteristics of the establishment,basic architecture and general situation of Mukden Medical University.The fourth part discusses the historical significance of Fengtian Medical University and its influence on the medical development in modern Northeast China from promoting medical development and talent training.
