| Taiping Taoist music is a traditional music form active in the Southern Hebei Region. It is closely related to folk life and is an important part of the local intangible cultural heritage. As performers of ritual music, they have long played an important role in the spiritual beliefs of the people, both as "laymen" and "Taoists".Therefore, this paper provides an in-depth analysis of this cultural phenomenon in the context of ethnomusicology and the identity of the performers of the Taoist music in Guangzong.By describing in depth the process of interaction between the Taoist individual, the whole and the musical culture, the roots of the culture are explored and analyzed. The whole paper is constructed in a framework of introduction, body and conclusion. The center of the article consists of three chapters.First chapter, the concept of the "cultural zone" of Taiping Taoist music is proposed based on the "ancient Taiping Taoist music of the Zhanghe River Valley" through a review of the development of Taiping Taoist music and its current status. The second chapter analyzes the ritual music form of Taiping Taoist music in Guangzong, and examines the rituals, instruments, and tunes, with the aim of clarifying the purity of the musical components. The third chapter explores the identity of the Guangzong Taiping Taoists, which is also the "highlight" of the paper. The purity of this identity is analyzed from the multidisciplinary perspectives of ethnomusicology and folklore to identify its musical purity. At the end of this chapter,by interpreting the relationship between "identification" and "identity," it provides a new perspective and inspiration for the academic community to explore a certain research subject. From a theoretical perspective, the interaction between Guangzong Taiping Taoist music and Taoist schools in Pingxiang and Julu reflects the similarity or consistency of Taoist music in the three counties.Placing the research perspective on the Taiping Taoist music that occurred on both sides of the ancient Zhanghe River has expanded the scope of research. After the "King of Yan swept the north",most of the people of Guangzong migrated from Shanxi to this place. Therefore,if people were not old friends, music could not be considered ancient music. The Taiping Taoists of Guangzong did not have strict regulations on the use of Taoist music, band standards, and Taoist knowledge. In summary,it is difficult for the author to identify this cultural phenomenon through the identification of Guangzong Taoist identity and its ritual music. |
