A Study Of The Image Of You Ling In Qin Shou Ou’s Novel

Qin Shouou was a popular novelist in the Republic of China period,who wrote nearly fifty novellas in his lifetime,translated ten detective novels and two Gong Li trivia novels,and wrote a wealth of books.As one of the three major elements of novels,characters have always been an indispensable and important part of the study of novel texts,but there is not much attention paid to Qin Shouou’s novels in today’s academic circles,only focusing on Qin Shouou’s personal life,famous work "Begonia" and individual novel texts,and there is less research on the character image in Qin Shouou’s novels.Throughout all of Qin Shouou’s novels,it can be found that his characters have unique personalities,and the writer mainly takes the character of You Ling as the starting point,and shapes the life experience and fate of this group through a large number of pages.Through the method of close reading of the text,this paper takes the image of Youling in Qin Shouou’s novel as the starting point,traces the reasons for Qin Shouou’s portrayal of Youling,classifies the image of Youling in detail,and explores the character characteristics and life meaning of Youling in Qin Shouou’s novel,as well as its value in literary history.At the same time,the study of Youling’s writing in Qin Thinou’s novels not only shows the life of Youling’s life in the context of a specific era,but also focuses on the influence of social background on the characters’ experiences,enhances the tension of the work,and makes up for the gap in Qin’s research as a writer.This paper is mainly written in four parts:The first part mainly starts from the writer’s excellent complex,conducts multi-angle investigation and research,and explores the reasons behind his creation of excellent image.First,it sorts out the historical development of this special group from ancient times to the present,and analyzes the encounters and changes of Youling from two perspectives,such as national ideology and social atmosphere.Secondly,starting from Qin’s personal experience,this paper analyzes the reasons why writers write excellent images from three perspectives:the influence of family,the writer’s personal experience and experience of watching dramas,concern for artists and the development of opera.The second part summarizes and classifies the image of Youling on the basis of reading Qin Shouou’s novel as a whole.The author is roughly divided into four categories,the first is old artists who are delayed by desire,the second is ideal artists with both virtue and art,the third is artists who adhere to chivalry,and the fourth is patriotic artists with social conscience.Through detailed classification,we can carefully grasp the character image of Youling,understand another Youling character characteristic that is different from other writers,show the uniqueness of Youling written by Qin shouou,make the image of Youling more three-dimensional and full,and enrich the group portrait of Youling in literary history.The third part analyzes the cultural implications of Youling in Qin Shouou’s novels.It mainly discusses the hidden expression of identity dilemma,the establishment and transcendence of gender dilemma,and the embodiment of social dilemma.The discrimination of Youling has brought countless physical and psychological injuries to the people,caused their own gender loss,psychological distortion and mental breakdown,and the dark era background and war and other environments have aggravated its tragedy.At the same time,the plight of this group also reflects the plight of ordinary people.The fourth part mainly evaluates and reflects on the shaping of the image of Youling in Qin Shouou’s novel.Firstly,from the perspective of "scholar-excellent relationship",this paper discusses the transformation of the process of communication between Youling and scribes,and analyzes how Qin Shouou’s Youling gets rid of the "traditional scholar-you relationship" model.Secondly,it places Qin Shouou in the history of modern literature,compares it with popular writers and new literary writers of the same period,and presents the similarities and differences between Qin Shouou and other writers.Finally,this paper analyzes the limitations of Youling’s writing in Qin Shouou’s novels,and discusses the status of Youling’s writing in modern literature.
