Study On Luo Hongxian’s Gong Fu

The development of the thought of the Wang Clan Scholars is based on the understanding of the relationship between the ontology and gong fu,and has evolved into a different path of development: innate knowledge and acquired knowledge,and Luo Hongxian belongs to the category of acquired gong fu.His philosophical thought is mainly manifested in the process of cultivating conscience,so this article takes the theory of gong fu as the topic to explore the connection between Luo Hongxian’s theory of gong fu and Wang Yangming’s thought of "the Ontology and Gong Fu Are One Source,All the Details Appear",and the unity of ontology and gong fu.The article starts from three aspects: background,connotation,inheritance,and development,and explores the concept of "Seeing in Conscience".Due to various desires frequently appearing in the heart and difficult to eliminate,it is impossible to directly understand the essence of conscience based on Wang Ji’s " Seeing in Conscience" approach.Therefore,Luo Hongxian advocated using the wisdom of conscience to "Preserve Natural Principles and Eliminate Human Desires",in order to understand the essence of conscience.This article focuses on the connotation of Luo Hongxian’s gong fu and its inheritance and development of Wang Yangming’s thought.Regarding the connotation of gong fu,from the perspectives of ontology,gong fu,and realm,Luo Hongxian’s gong fu embodies Wang Yangming’s "Unity of Ontology and Gong Fu".From this,it can be concluded that the idea of "Master Tranquility without Desire" has already emerged,but in practical practice it still remains at the level of stillness,unable to break free from its connection with specific things.It belongs to the form of’ "Gong Fu Acting on the Ontology".Compared to the former,"Receiving and Taking to Keep Together" truly achieves the unity of inner and outer,movement,and stillness,belonging to the form of "Unity of Ontology and Gong Fu".The "Thorough Understanding of Ren" is a complete understanding of the idea of Ren and all things in heaven and earth as one,and in practical life,it has achieved no distractions in the heart,maintained inner stability,and reached the state of connecting movement and stillness.It belongs to the form of "Unity of Ontology and Gong Fu".Therefore,Luo Hongxian’s gong fu is only the inheritance of thought of "Master Tranquility without Desire";The true inheritance and development of Wang Yangming’s ideas of "the Ontology and Gong Fu are One Source,All the Details Appear" and "Unity of Ontology and Gong Fu" are the principles of "Receiving and Taking to Keep Together" and "Thorough Understanding of Ren".
