Writing is an important expressive skill that can recreate knowledge.It is one of the best ways for students to comprehensively use language skills.With the promulgation of the latest English curriculum standards(2022version),writing enjoys an increasingly high status in English teaching in high school.At present,there are some thorny problems in writing teaching,such as the failure of corpus extraction and the lack of innovative thinking.This thesis,under the guidance of the student-based education concept,makes some improvements of the five-step teaching method proposed by Wang Sufang and designs a new seven-step teaching method,in order to improve the teaching effects of English writing in senior high school.This thesis selects two parallel classes in a rural high school as the research objects,and conducts a one-semester comparative teaching.This thesis discusses the applicability and effectiveness of the seven-step teaching method in the high school English writing class.The experimental class adopts the seven-step teaching method to guide English writing.The teaching process includes: 1.well-designed pre-work;2.interesting introduction to lead themes;3.homework inspection to express and explore;4.careful review to list out outlines;5.translation of key points and mutual revision;6.text coherence and self-evaluation revision;7.multi-evaluation and composition display.That is,a seven-step teaching method.The control class adopts the outcome-based teaching method to guide English writing.In the teaching process of these two classes,the author examines the influence and effect of the seven-step teaching method on students’ interest in English writing,writing attitude,writing performance and writing ability through questionnaires and teaching experiments.This thesis attempts to answer the following two research questions:(1)What are the main positive effects of the seven-step teaching method under the student-based education concept on the teaching of English writing in senior high schools?(2)How can the seven-step teaching method under the student-based education concept be implemented in senior high school English writing classes?This thesis collects the data from questionnaires and teaching experiments,and uses SPSS software for data analysis,and finally draws the following conclusions:(1)The application of the seven-step teaching method to high school English writing class can stimulate students’ interest in English writing,thereby transforming students’ attitudes towards English writing and stimulate students’ willingness to write.(2)The seven-step teaching method can improve students’ English writing skills and writing performance.It can be concluded that the implementation of the seven-step teaching method is feasible and effective,and has a very good guiding value for the teaching of English writing in high school.
