| Since the COVID-19 pandemic, many large companies have made the request to work from home on an irregular basis due to the need of epidemic prevention and control. When the places of work and rest overlap, individuals are prone to bring work-related stress into their home life, leading to the gradual blurring of work-family boundaries, which not only affects individuals’ lives, but also may in turn affect their interpersonal relationships. In this study, the relationship between psychological detachment and work-family conflict was firstly investigated by using meta-analysis,and it was found that psychological detachment was significantly and negatively related to work-family conflict. Then, this study conducted a questionnaire survey on 581 working employees, including medical personnel, teachers, corporate employees, and civil servants in Chengdu,Bazhong, and Chongzhou cities of Sichuan Province. The results indicated that the level of psychological detachment of working people significantly predicted their level of work-family conflict;when individuals had lower levels of psychological detachment, they were likely to have higher levels of work-family conflict;the sense of boundary control had a mediating effect in this effect model. When individuals have higher sense of boundary control, they tend to have lower levels of workfamily conflict, and the level of individual psychological detachment influences work-family conflict through the mediating factor of the sense of boundary control. In addition, this study included the variable of resilience and found that this was a mediating model with moderation.Resilience moderates the second half of the mediating model,in which the psychological detachment influences the work-family conflict through the sense of boundary control. At the theoretical level, this study has constructed a structural model framework of psychological detachment and work-family conflict. At the practical level, this study has provided a new pathway for understanding the current work-family conflict and offered a way of thinking about resolving the work-family conflict that is more in line with the current post-epidemic era. |
