A Practical Study On The Creation Technique Of "Big Clever If Stupid" In The Sculpture Series Of "Home"

"Great skill if stupid" comes from Chapter 45 of Lao Tzu: "Great straightness if bending,great skill if stupid,great argument if stupid." It means that the straightest things seem to be bent,the smartest things seem to be clumsy,and the most eloquent people seem to be inarticulate.In the creation of sculpture art,"great ingenuity but not clumsiness" refers to: "Using seemingly simple expression techniques,using the natural form of the material itself,through simple outline and carving,to create exquisite sculpture works that are both artfully made and naturally made by nature.The wonderful meaning lies in between the artfulness and clumsiness,showing the agility and artfulness of art in transforming complex into simple and seeking my own wisdom."This paper takes the creative technique of "Big clever if stupid" as the research object,and explores the artistic expression technique of "big clever if stupid" contained in Oriental image sculpture and Western cubist sculpture.On the basis of inheritance,the exploration of integration and application,the creation of the "Home" series of sculpture works,in the practice of creation to further explore the "big clever but clumsy" creative methods,to form a unique sculpture language and expression.This paper mainly studies "Home" series sculpture works from the perspectives of creation theme,creation form language and expression techniques.In the creation of the theme,love as the source,home as the topic,to expand and extend,at the same time,the emotional appeal in the form of creation language,with the most direct,frank,simple artistic sculpture language directly express the heart,in the expression of the technique,the use of "big clever if clumsy" artistic expression techniques,in seeking my humble opinions,show the tension of art,look for simple and simple beauty of natural posture.
