Research On The Origin And Evolution Of The Theory Of "Wenqi

The theory of "Wen Qi" is one of the most important theoretical propositions in the history of ancient Chinese literary criticism.It originated from ancient Chinese philosophical thought,and then,after the continuous expansion of the meaning of "Qi" by various scholars in the pre Qin and Han dynasties,it was until Cao Pi explicitly proposed the theoretical viewpoint of "Qi is the main factor in literature" in his "Dian Lun Pian",thus pioneering the use of Qi in the history of ancient Chinese literary theory,From then on,the theory of "Wenqi" officially entered the field of Chinese literary criticism history from the field of philosophy.Although the length of Cao Pi’s "Dianlun Thesis" is short,it covers a wide range of literary essence.As the leader of the Jian’an literati group,Cao Pi discussed the creation of poetry and prose through "Qi",laying a solid foundation for the further interpretation of the theory of "Wen Qi" in later generations.On the basis of Cao Pi’s essay on "Qi",Liu Xie of the Southern Dynasty delved deeper and more extensively into the inherent meaning of the theory of "Wenqi",which led to the development of the theory of "Wenqi" going through a process of construction from initial creation to integration.Later on,literary theorists such as Han Yu in the Tang Dynasty,Su Zhe in the Northern Song Dynasty,Song Lian in the late Yuan and early Ming Dynasties,and the Tongcheng School in the Qing Dynasty continued to expand and develop on the theoretical basis of their predecessors,promoting the more refined development of the theory of "Wenqi" and ultimately becoming a more systematic theoretical category.On the basis of synthesizing previous research results,this article further explores the theory of "Wenqi" in depth.Firstly,by exploring the origin of the word "qi",the philosophical connotation of "qi",the expansion of the connotation of "qi" by pre Qin scholars,and the philosophical system of the natural theory of "yuan qi",we can trace the origin of the theory of "wen qi",clarify the theoretical basis of the theory of "wen qi",and analyze the core theoretical viewpoints of Cao Pi’s "wen qi" theory,such as "qi is clear and turbid with a body" and "qi is not evenly introduced",Analyze the internal connection between the writer’s talent and work style contained in Cao Pi’s "Wenqi" theory,and then explore the theoretical meaning of "Wenqi" theory.Then,by analyzing the development of the theory of "Wenqi" by literary theorists of various dynasties,such as the analysis of the content related to "Wenqi" in Liu Xie’s "Wenxin Diaolong" during the Southern and Northern Dynasties,this paper reveals the connotation of Liu Xie’s "Wenqi" theory,and further points out that Liu Xie’s "Wenqi" theory inherits and develops Cao Pi’s "Wenqi" theory,revealing the positive development significance of Liu Xie’s "Wenqi" theory for future generations of "Wenqi" theory;Another example is to focus on analyzing the theoretical viewpoints of representative literary theorists in the Tang and Song dynasties in the field of "Wenqi" theory.By analyzing the theoretical connotation of Han Yu’s "Qi Sheng Yan Yi" theory,this paper analyzes the deepening deduction of his theory to the theory of "Wenqi",and then analyzes the "Wenqi" theory of Su Zhe,a literary theorist of the Northern Song Dynasty,to grasp the theoretical connotation of his theory of "the form of literary qi",And its relevance and progressiveness with the "Wenqi" theory of literary theorists such as Han Yu;And by analyzing the theoretical viewpoints of Song Lian,the representative writer of the "Wenqi" theory in the Ming and Qing dynasties,and the Tongcheng School in the Qing dynasty,the innovation and development of the two theoretical positions on the "Wenqi" theory are analyzed,and their contributions to the theoretical system of the "Wenqi" theory are pointed out.Finally,the interpretation of the theoretical connotation of the "Wenqi" theory,as well as the sorting out of the occurrence and evolution process of the "Wenqi" theory,clarifies the important position of the "Wenqi" theory in the history of Chinese literary criticism,and further explains its theoretical value and significance in literary creation,literary criticism,and writer’s personality cultivation.
