| Given a growing trend for international communication in medical care and services in the post-pandemic era when China has recovered from the COVID-19,this report is based on the self-repairs phenomenon analyses with the help of the transcriptions and recordings in the interpreting task of a series of training courses on prevention of AIDS,syphilis and hepatitis B mother-to-child transmission for developing countries in July 2021.Interpreting practice reports present a highlight on self-repairs frameworks mirroring interpreting learners’ performance on simultaneous and consecutive interpreting.But under the guidance of the two self-repairs classifications of Petite and Tang Fang,a corresponding research scheme for the report is put forward and taken for this report,combined with the personal experience on the interpreting task.From the research and summary,the self-repairs phenomenon in the practice can be divided to two categories,input-generated and output-generated ones.The former includes semantics error repairs and appropriateness repairs,while the latter classifies phonetic,grammatical,and lexical error repairs,synonym repairs and restart repairs.Typical examples and analyses are matched to the above classification,and related coping tactics are followed in the approaching chapter.The quantity of self-repairs could be lowered through knowledge pool enlargement,topic information enrichment and bilingual transformation ability enhancement.While the quality of self-repairs could be improved by supplement,synonym repairs and other interpreting tactics application.By self-repairing,the author will be given some insights into her interpretation faults,deployment of processing capacities and decision-making processes,conducive for finding out her bottlenecks and improving the interpreting performance.The author hopes the report can help herself and shed light on other student interpreters for finding their strengths and weaknesses in interpreting practice. |
