| With the implementation of the General High School English Curriculum Standards(2017 Edition)and the proposal of core literacy in English subjects,how to optimize the teaching of English reading in high schools to effectively improve the effectiveness of English reading teaching,cultivate and develop students’ reading ability has become the research direction of English educators,which requires teachers to actively explore new teaching methods for English reading teaching.Students’ ability to obtain information,process information,analyze problems and solve problems in English is to a large extent reflects students’ English reading ability and English subject literacy,and these abilities can be reflected in students’ questions.Teaching students to ask questions in high school English reading classes helps to cultivate students’ ability to find problems,ask questions and solve problems in English reading,thereby improving the effectiveness of English reading teaching and students’ English reading ability.Through classroom observation,interviews and question tests,it can be found that the current high school English reading classroom students’ question teaching has problems such as students’ awareness of asking questions and the quality of questions,insufficient understanding of the importance of students’ questions,solidification of traditional reading teaching,lack of question teaching,and students’ ability to explore discourse.This paper starts with the problems existing in the current English reading teaching,and probes into the students’ questioning teaching in high school English reading class,in order to improve the students’ English reading ability,inquiry ability and thinking quality.The questioning teaching of students in high school English reading class includes three stages and six steps: pre-reading,middle-reading and post-reading.In the pre-reading stage,students need to preview and fill in the question form,and teachers need to create a questioning situation during the introduction;Demonstrate questions by interpreting the content of the text;in the post-reading stage,students need to internalize the text in groups to practice questioning.Based on the analysis of the problems existing in the teaching of questions asked by students in the high school English reading class,the strategies and teaching processes of the students’ question teaching were explored.According to the teaching principles of subjectivity,guidance,and openness,teaching strategies such as motivating students to ask questions,guiding students to ask questions,and teaching students to ask questions should be adopted in English reading teaching.At the same time,the high school English reading classroom students ask questions and teaching includes three stages and six steps,of which students need to prepare and fill in the question form in the pre-reading stage,and teachers need to create questioning situations in the introduction;teachers in the middle stage of reading need to ask questions by interpreting the content of the discourse;students need to internalize the discourse group practice questions in the post-reading stage,and the teacher guides the students to review and reflect and self-evaluate,and then assigns after-class practice homework. |
