| The English Curriculum Standard for Compulsory Education(2011 Edition)puts forward requirements for teaching English non-fiction texts.The research on English non-fiction texts is still in its initial stage,and the research combined with English reading classes is relatively superficial,and there are few studies on English non-fiction texts in junior high school.Based on the development trend of reading in the digital era and the requirements of junior high school English curriculum,it is necessary to conduct in-depth research on junior high school English non-fiction texts.English non-fiction text is a type of English text that is closely related to real life,fact-centered and shows real people and real things,and can be divided into different types according to different perspectives.Teaching non-fiction texts has the value of adapting to the needs of social development,cultivating higher-order thinking skills,and enhancing students’ attention to and judgment of social life.The results show that teachers have a vague concept of nonfiction texts,lack of text interpretation in pre-class teaching design,lack of teaching methods that are appropriate for nonfiction texts,neglect of students’ higher-order thinking skills,and lack of reading resources after class.Therefore,in response to the above problems,junior high school English teachers should improve their own knowledge of English non-fiction texts,design their pre-class teaching to deeply interpret the texts,flexibly adopt a variety of reading teaching methods that are close to non-fiction texts,pay attention to the cultivation of students’ higher-order thinking skills and select non-fiction texts suitable for junior high school students to read as extra-curricular reading supplements.The teaching of English non-fiction texts is an important way to improve the core literacy of English for middle school students.In teaching,teachers can focus on improving students’ reading ability of nonfiction texts,which not only lays the foundation for junior high school students to enter the next level of learning,but also helps students’ overall sustainable development,and provides teachers with new teaching observation points in reading teaching,and improves teachers’ professional ability. |
