| Students with learning difficulties should not be ignored in English teaching.They are the students whose intelligence is normal,but their academic performance is under the average level and they fail to meet the basic requirements of English curriculum standard.As we all know,English is a tool of communication,and learning English is to use it better and realize its communicative function.Participating in classroom exchange plays an essential role in developing students’ pragmatic competence and communication skills.However,influenced by various reasons,students with learning difficulties are faced with multiple problems during in classroom communication.Based on questionnaire data and combined with interview and related references,there are several problems for students with learning difficulties,such as participating in activities passively,having less time and fewer opportunity to participate for the reasons of poor oral expression,weak awareness of particiaption and lower ability to use communicative strategies.Due to the leading role of teachers in class,the paper puts forward improvement strategies from teacher’s perspective.According to the problems,the relative improvement strategies are as shown below.Firstly,teachers should enhance students’ ability in oral expression to improve their initiative of participation.Then,teachers should take steps to promote students with learning difficulties to participate in activities and increase the frequency of communication.What’s more,teachers should guide students with learning difficulties to use appropriate communication strategies to improve communication skills.Besides,teachers need to design communication activities carefully to increase communicative passion.Through the implementation of these strategies,it is expected to improve the current situation of communication participation and improve their English communicative ability.46660words,125 references... |
