A Study On Marx’s Concept Of Labor Happiness And Its Practical Significance

Marx’s concept of happiness at work is an indispensable spiritual wealth in the process of building socialist modernization,and it still has distinct characteristics of the times and practical guiding significance at present.Marx’s concept of labor happiness inherits and develops the ideas of predecessors,originated from the criticism of the phenomenon of labor alienation in capitalist society,matured in the practice of the labor movement,and was refined in the construction of future society.Behind the development of Marx’s concept of happiness has always been the pursuit of human happiness,with human development as the core and human freedom and liberation as the goal.Marx’s exposition of the concept of happiness at work can be found in the texts of different periods.As early as graduation thesis in his high school,Marx proposed to choose a career that struggled for the liberation of mankind,and the choice of career was closely related to the realization of happiness in life.Human labor,as the manifestation of man’s free and easy nature,has been completely unrecognizable in the oppression of the big machine industry in capitalist society,and the alienation of labor has caused human unhappiness.Marx’s vision of the free and comprehensive development of everyone in the communist society is complementary to Marx’s interpretation of the purpose of labor,which is to promote human liberation and human happiness,and ultimately realize the free and comprehensive development of human beings.With the gradual improvement of the socialist market economy and the continuous development of science and technology and artificial intelligence,the concept of labor happiness has a broader practical path in the new era.Marx’s concept of labor happiness,with its distinct practicality,populism,criticality and dialectical nature,still shines with the light of truth in contemporary society,providing a theoretical basis for respecting labor,a critical weapon for abandoning contemporary alienation,a direction for overcoming the paradox of labor and happiness,and a practical path for building a new type of labor relations.In this regard,by exploring Marx’s concept of labor happiness and its contemporary significance,this paper clarifies that labor is the source of happiness,and only labor can truly highlight human subjectivity and cultivate a new trend of industrious and courageous socialism under new historical conditions.We need to explore the practical path to achieve Marx’s concept of labor happiness from the perspectives of the state,society,and individuals.
