Exploration Of The Application Of Expressionism In Character Documentarie

The core of a character documentary is to create a distinctive character image and show the richness of the character’s heart.For character documentaries,showing the inner truth of characters,that is,showing their artistic truth,is crucial to reflect humanistic and aesthetic values.When the performance of characters in the creation of character documentaries becomes solidified,so that there is no way to show the spiritual dilemmas of characters,no way to express the emotional tensions,and no way to trace the changes in the relationship of characters,it is necessary to express the spiritual dilemmas with stylized techniques,reflect the emotional tensions with fictionalized techniques,and highlight the relationship of characters with reconstructed time through the expressionistic techniques that seem to be contrary to realism.When seeking a breakthrough in the creation of character documentaries,the expressionist technique will be an effective means to reveal the inner truth of the characters and achieve a higher level of artistic truth.This paper firstly defines the concept of character documentary and expressionism,pointing out that the importance of character documentary to the inner character and the attention of expressionism to the inner character coincide.In the first chapter,it is analyzed that some of the current character documentaries have the problem of showing the solidification of characters,which is reflected in three problems: neglecting the characters’ spiritual dilemmas,suppressing the characters’ emotions and the emotional world they carry,and neglecting the characters’ character reflected by the changes in their relationships and their back.So in the second,third and fourth chapters,we discuss that "The Stick and the Pig" breaks through the problem of solidified character performance through the techniques of stylized representation,fictionalization and reconstructed time,and explores the inner world of the main characters in the film.In the second chapter,the three stylized techniques of portraying and depicting the spiritual world and spiritual dilemmas of the characters through the use of color,detailed design,and the spiritual symbolism of the natural landscape are analyzed in detail.In the third chapter,three fictionalized techniques are analyzed in detail to reflect the emotional state of the characters and the emotional world behind them through using emotions as the driving force,transposing emotional scenes,and depicting the inner world with music.The fourth chapter introduces the non-linear time processing,variable speed and inversion of time to highlight the changes in the characters’ relationship in the reconstructed time,thus showing the characters’ character and their changes.In general,the three specific techniques of expression focus on the spiritual aspect,emotional world and character traits of the characters,and are tightly focused on shaping the characters and revealing their hearts.The fifth chapter explains the author’s conceptual summary as a creator in the process of practicing expressionist techniques.Chapter six summarizes and reflects on how to grasp the feasible path between emotional expression and fictional reality in the creation of character documentaries,and analyzes and summarizes the direction of optimizing the expressionist technique in character documentaries and the feasible path between fictional reality and fictional reality.
