Reading is an essential part of English learning.At present,some problems still exist in high school English reading teaching,such as negative classroom atmosphere,lack of communication and interaction between teacher and students,students’ English reading awareness and interest and reading comprehension ability are not strong.Therefore,this paper expounds the concept,basic elements,theoretical basis of multi-dimensional interactive teaching model and its significance in high school English reading class.The author adopted research methods such as questionnaire survey,interview and classroom observation to investigate,analyze data and obtain information on the application of multi-dimensional interactive teaching model in high school English reading class,and further realize the efficiency achieved in the application of the teaching model in high school English reading class.However,there are some problems in the application of this model in high school English reading classes,such as the lack of scientific design of multi-dimensional interactive content,process and reflection.Based on the root of the problem,the author has carried out a deep exploration on the optimization strategy of multidimensional interactive teaching model in high school English reading class.Mainly from the teaching concept,teaching objectives,teaching design,teaching preparation,evaluation methods and teaching summary and reflection.Based on the constructivism learning theory,interaction theory and cooperative learning theory,the author carried out a 20-week teaching application research in the English reading teaching of Class 6,Grade 2,Shangli Foreign Language School,Haidian District,Beijing,to improve students’ English reading level through the adoption of multi-dimensional interactive teaching model.The research questions of this study are:(1)What is the current situation of high school English reading classes at Shangli Foreign Language School in Beijing Haidian District?(2)What impact does multi-dimensional interactive teaching model have on the learning interest of the senior students?(3)What is the influence of multi-dimensional interactive teaching model on the reading performance of the senior students?From the results of the first questionnaire survey,most students are short of English learning interest in English reading material and the atmosphere of the English reading class in the two classes at the early stage of the semester is not high.After applying one semester of this teaching model,the second questionnaire survey shows it is obvious that students’ interest in English reading has been enhanced partly because of the better classroom atmosphere of English reading.In addition,students’ recognition of the teaching model can also be seen from the interviews.Through the analysis of pre-test and post-test results,it shows that the teaching model can indeed improve students’ reading comprehension level.Teachers can carry out multidimensional interaction in the teaching subject,content,form and evaluation in the design of high school English reading teaching.Additionally,teachers can design multi-dimensional teaching activities to stimulate students’ interest in English reading,and positively guide students’ learning attention,learning emotional tendency and extracurricular reading under the foundation of a cheerful and enjoyable classroom atmosphere.
