| This thesis takes representative small-town narrative literature of the new century as its object of study,and focuses on the development and characteristics of Small-Town Narrative Fiction since the new century as well as the textual study of my fictional narrative novel<Enclaved>.The introductory section defines the literary value of the social space of small towns,sorting out the development of Small-Town Narrative Fiction since the new century.The first chapter takes several influential Small-Town Narrative writers as examples,and analyzes the characteristics of Small-Town Narrative novels in the new century from four perspectives: writers,works,worlds,and readers.From the discovery of "small-town youth" by online social media and publishing communication,the spiritual features of Small-Town Narrative novels in the current social context are explained,and their echoes to the social development and emotional structure of contemporary China.The second chapter focus on the novels of Wei Sixiao and Lu Min,research of their novels to explore their effort on the development of Small-Town Narrative Fiction.The third chapter takes my personal work<Enclaved>as an example to explain the realistic background and creative intent of it,as well as its reference to and development of Small-Town Narrative Fiction since the new century.Focusing on the complex family ethics and women’s life experiences in small-town society,<Enclaved> explores the dimensions that can be furthered and deepened in contemporary Small-Town Narrative Fiction. |
