With the promulgation of the Higher Education Standard for International Students in China in 2018(Trial),improving the higher education for international students in China has become the focus of the education for international students at present,and strengthening the academic Chinese writing ability of international students,especially the dissertation writing ability,has become an urgent problem to be solved.Different from the concept,more and more scholars believe that academic paper writing is not only the objective statement of the author,but also a way for the author to introduce the research results to the readers and try his best to persuade the readers to accept and believe in his own research,and it is also a way for the author to construct his identity.As one of the strongest language strategies for author identity construction,selfreferential terms are not uncommon,but there are few studies on self-reference in foreign students’ academic Chinese writing,and most of the current academic terms related to self-reference Article research is carried out under the general classification of metadiscourse or under the subcategory of interactive metadiscourse.There is little research on the distribution characteristics and use functions of self-reference in academic Chinese discourse.There are also relatively few studies on identity construction.This study focuses on the authorship and identity construction in the master’s thesis of international students teaching Chinese to speakers of other languages,and 11 kinds of authority in the field of international students’ master’s thesis and international Chinese education in East China Normal University from 2011 to 2021.The teaching-related papers in the journals have been exhaustively built by themselves.The corpus of foreign students’ dissertations and expert journals,and using the latter as a reference,examines the frequency of use and the type of authorship of the authors in the thesis of the master’s degree in teaching Chinese to speakers of other languages.The similarities and differences and the reasons for the differences are explored in order to provide reference for the academic Chinese writing of foreign students with a master’s degree in teaching Chinese to speakers of other languages whose mother tongue is not Chinese,improve their awareness and ability of academic norms,and also provide inspiration and inspiration for the teaching of Chinese as a second language.learn from.The research questions of this paper are as follows:(1)What are the characteristics of the distribution and use of self-referential terms in the dissertations of foreign students mastering Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages?(2)How do foreign students of the master’s degree in teaching Chinese to speakers of other languages use self-proclaimed words to construct authorship in their dissertations?(3)What are the main reasons for the differences in the choice of self-proclaimed words and the type of identity construction in the dissertations of foreign students mastering Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages?The research found that:(1)international students tend to use "author" to refer to themselves and construct authorship in dissertation writing;(2)international students mainly construct the identity of researchers and viewpoint holders in dissertation writing,but they are different from native speakers What is more remarkable is that international students reveal their emotions and attitudes more in dissertation writing,construct the evaluator’s identity,and seldom construct discourse through selfproclaimed words to attract readers’ attention;(3)Factors such as the type of thesis,cultural background,language characteristics and academics It has an impact on the choice of self-referential terms for foreign students.The reason why foreign students use self-proclaimed terms repeatedly in their dissertation writing may be that they have insufficient understanding of the spatial characteristics of Chinese structure;(4)Author involvement and subjective involvement are higher.Therefore,in the course of academic Chinese writing,we should consciously train foreign students to learn and understand various self-proclaimed words and their different textual functions,predict the possible choice of self-proclaimed words for students from different cultural backgrounds in thesis writing,and help them improve their awareness of identity building so as to better conduct academic Chinese writing...
