The Walt Disney Company has played an important role in shaping and spreading American popular culture since the 20th century, and the company, founded in 1923,has worked closely with the U.S.government in its development, becoming an essential vehicle for the strategic communication of the government. Before the World War Ⅱ,Walt Disney, the founder of the Walt Disney Company, used unique cultural ideas and innovative technologies to promote the rapid development of the company, and the company’s influence at home and abroad rose rapidly. This influence and the inspiring effect of the company’s cultural products also laid the foundation for the company’s cooperation with the government. In World War Ⅱ,Disney’s financial difficulties led to several important collaborations with the government, which promoted the development of the American film industry, but also propagated the policies of government, boosted the morale of the American people, and also improving the country’s image in Latin America.During the Cold War,Disneyland also helped enhance the national identity of Americans in the practice of creating an idealized version of America’s past, creating a “fairy tale kingdom” where people could briefly escape the pressures of reality, and showcasing advanced science and technology and the development of the United States to raise expectations for the future. It has become a cultural venue that helps to enhance the national identity of Americans and plays a crucial part in the diplomatic field as a “goodwill” ambassador. The reason why the company has become a vital strategic communication vehicle is not only because of the fit among the ideas embedded in the company’s cultural products at different historical stages and the government’s needs, but also because of the government’s strategy of using the company’s influence to package its cultural products as a momentous medium for strategic communication.
