Cao Guangping’s composition career shows an obvious preference for "poetic" writing,in order to express his feelings on reality or imagination.Three figures depict three kinds of musical images. While conveying the artist’s emotions, each image corresponds to different "technical positions",namely, fullback, center back and forward. From the aesthetic point of view, the works differ from the traditional music aesthetics of Europe,America and China, presenting a kind of "New Oriental music" aesthetics which emerged after the trend of Western learning.Through the musical analysis of this work, this paper aims to master the intercommunication between the composer’s musical ideas and composition means, and at the same time to interpret the techniques of each movement,in-depth study of his "avant-garde,center-back,fullback","New Oriental Music" and poetic expression. This paper includes introduction, four chapters and conclusion. The first chapter discusses the composer’s experience and the background of his works, and defines the relevant music concepts. The second chapter analyzes the movement of Confucius, interprets the performance of "guard",the selection and organization of the music material of Confucius Temple, and the multi-sound processing and structure. The fourth chapter analyzes the movement of Ah Q,interprets the expression of "avant-garde",the deformation of theme and motive, the harmonic construction dominated by the second year and the fourth year, and the treatment of sound tone. The conclusion part discusses the style of "New Oriental Music" and the expression of "avant-garde · center-back · defender" from the overall technique characteristics of the work, and summarizes the innovation of the genre of "collaborative poem".
