There is a negative correlation between perceived stress and subjective well-being of urban residents, but there are few studies on the mediating and regulating mechanism of the correlation among them.Previous studies mainly focused on the influence of teenagers and stressful life events on adults, and rarely discussed the correlation through perceived stress level.Stress and depression have a great impact on residents, therefore, how to resolve the negative impact of pressure on residents has been the focus of attention in various fields. In this study,we explored the mediating role of depression between perceived stress and subjective well-being of urban residents,as well as the moderating role of residents’ sense of community in the direct and indirect relationship.Relevant studies show that depression is a very important mediating factor, and the sense of community can better block the negative effects of negative factors, promote the positive effects of positive factors. This study takes urban residents as the research object based on the aboved discussion, adopts the questionnaire survey method, and uses the "Stress Perception Scale","Epidemic Research Center Depression Scale","Chinese Residents Subjective Well-Being Scale Brief","Community Sense SCI-2 Scale" as the tools to conduct a questionnaire survey on 758 urban residents, and finally gets 582 valid questionnaires. This study explores the influence of perceived stress on subjective well-being of urban residents, and examines the mediating role of depression and the moderating role of sense of community. The results are as follows:(1)Urban residents’ perception of stress, depression, subjective well-being and sense of community were different in demographic variables such as gender, grade, education level and annual family income.(2)Urban residents’ perceived stress has a significant negative predictive effect on subjective well-being and a significant positive predictive effect on depression.(3)In the mediation model, depression plays a mediating role between perceived stress and subjective well-being.(4)The sense of community plays a moderating role in the relationship between residents’ perceived stress and depressive mood, between perceived stress and subjective well-being.The model of this study is a moderated mediation model. Finally, the implications of this study are discussed. |
