For the current era, technology is the key to driving social progress and providing absolute support to meet human needs. For a world full of desire and money like today, human life has long been labeled as commercialized. In the view of some Marxists, man today, too, has developed a tendency toward materialization. But in any case, man is not reduced to an economic animal.Modern capitalism is the central embodiment of man’s pursuit of material things. It can be said that never in the past thousands of years of history has there been a time when mankind has pursued profit so much as in the present, and it is against this background that we analyze a series of writings by the French sociologist Baudrillard. As a pioneer of the idea of seduction,he is a promoter of the return to the identification of symbolic exchange, especially in the pursuit of interpersonal interactions, the freedom between individual subjects."Seduction",in Baudrillard’s view,is a form that differs from the binary distinction model.Baudrillard’s emphasis on "seduction" was first born out of an analysis of femininity and was first directed at some feminist discussions. He argues that feminism should not discuss women’s issues and defend women’s rights from the dichotomy between men and women, but in fact, this is still at the level of centralist theory, and the way it asks questions is still the way of the male system of interrogation, following the logic of "production".In this logic, women should discuss the topic in a "seductive" way.In "seduction",there is no distinction between producing or being produced, and there is no gender conflict;it is a way to overcome sexual desire. In this sense,"seduction" is different from the desire mentioned in psychoanalysis. This psychoanalytic logic is what Baudrillard wanted to establish.Although he did not explicitly propose this scheme in On Temptation,it is obvious that he has a deeper understanding and critique of the real society here.In my opinion, the relevance of this selection lies in the ability to appreciate the slavery and control of the human mind in the post-industrial era from Baudrillard’s theoretical logic and his idea of "seduction",and to rediscover our lost existence and purpose.
