| Painting is an art of creativity,whose charm lies in its innovation.The main issue for the contemporary painting field of China is the controversy over the innovation of the Chinese paintings.While the modern society provides excellent material conditions for artistic creations,the Chinese art is still faced with the question of whether and how to innovate the form language of paintings.Shu Chunguang,with his unique form language and artistic feeling,creatively expresses the geographical and cultural factors as well as the characteristic of the modern era.He is also world-famous for his boneless(or structureless)figure paintings and the wind erosion of Yardang landscape.This article is the case-study of the form language of paintings of Shu Chunguang.The research adopts qualitative methods,mainly including comparative analysis,field research and interviews.The first chapter,beginning with the background of Shu Chunguang,explains his art creations and his artistic language,organizing the different stages of his creative practices and his growth experience,and summarizing his development on western desert landscape.The second chapter combines the “Northwest Style” painting theory of Rao Zongyi,discusses the relationship between practices of Shu Chunguang and the “Northwest Style”,explores the unique practice of artistic language of Shu Chunguang and commonality of the research and development of Chinese painting theory.The third chapter inspects the paintings of Shu Chunguang in detail,together with the regional culture,the color language,the structural composition and the ink techniques,by demonstrating his numerous art works,discussing his form language and especially focusing on his “Fei Wen Ren Bi Mo”(means: the breakthrough on the traditional painting techniques).The fourth chapter analyzes the connotation and aesthetic value of the from language of Shu Chunguang,discusses the impact of his artistic exploration and his achievements on the Xinjiang landscape and artists,and looks forward to the development of his artistic ideas and artistic forms.As the pioneer of frontier landscape painting,with his whole life,Shu Chunguang paints the sceneries of the Silk Road,which shows the his richness in style and refined painting techniques.He also invents the unique “Shu Jia Yang”(“Shujia-Like” painting technique),which creates a new artistic path for the form language of Chinese paintings. |
