Narrative Research On Domestic Youth Films(2012-2019)

At the beginning of the 21 st century,the Chinese mainland film market ushered in a wave of commercial youth film production with small and medium-cost inputs.Compared with the past,the youth films of this period have undergone great changes in character shaping,narrative themes,audiovisual symbols,etc.This paper discusses the specific characteristics of youth film narratives,so as to further explore their general laws in narrative.Taking 13 youth-themed films adapted from online novels as the research object,and taking narratology and semiotics as the core methodology,this paper conducts in-depth discussions on the character shaping,narrative themes,spatial symbols and audiovisual symbols of youth films.Firstly,the character shaping of online novels adapted from youth-themed movies is introduced,and the characters relationship is divided into: the difficult breakthrough of the "learning generation",the reconciliation between youth and "mothers",and the confusion and exploration of the "gray guy" group.On this basis,the theme expression of youth-themed films is discussed from two themes such as growth and love,including the growth process of confrontation and reconciliation,and the disorderly love and sex in youth.Finally,the study of symbolic narrative of youth-themed films mainly analyzes its spatial symbols and audiovisual symbols,so as to discuss the presentation and value of symbols in narrative after nostalgia psychology meets the characteristics of the times.
