As an important medium of communication,humanistic documentaries play a role in inheriting excellent culture,promoting national spirit,documenting people’s lives,and showcasing the social landscape in the historical process of national and social development.They are a photo album of the times for groups and individuals.Since the 20 th century,China’s humanities documentary industry has undergone a long exploration and development,with storytelling gradually becoming the mainstream of humanities documentary creation,and on this basis,it has begun to move towards a path of narrative diversification.The development of the narrative system of humanistic documentaries is a gradual process.Based on the narrative theory and expressive techniques of movies,without departing from the principle of authenticity in humanistic documentaries,the narrative methods of movies can be borrowed and integrated into the creation of works,making the narrative structure of movies more complete,the story plot more compact,and the humanistic spirit fully expressed.This article combines the narrative theory of humanities documentaries with the creation of the graduation work "Island",systematically narrates the creative process and practical experience of "Island",and explores the narrative strategies of humanities documentaries.The first chapter summarizes and summarizes humanities documentaries from the background and significance of the research,as well as the current status of domestic and international research.At the same time,it analyzes the differences between films and humanities documentaries,and points out the practical significance of humanities documentaries.The second chapter is a systematic review of the core concepts and development process of humanities documentaries,mainly introducing the narrative concept of humanities documentaries and the development context of humanities documentaries in China.The third chapter discusses two narrative strategies of humanistic documentaries: storytelling and democratizing perspectives,mainly elaborating on the creators’ handling of narrative and the expression of humanistic qualities in humanistic documentaries.Chapter 4,Analysis of the Narrative Strategy of the Humanities Documentary "Island",based on the graduation work "Island",systematically analyzes the steps of work creation from six perspectives: topic selection,story selection,suspense creation,detail presentation,rhythm control,and conflict excavation.It covers the entire process from preliminary preparation,mid-term filming to post production,and elaborates on the narrative strategy of the graduation work "Island".Chapter 5 is a summary and reflection on the narrative strategy of the graduation work "Island".It sorts out the main narrative line of "Island",summarizes the development of the event,summarizes the creative ideas of the work,and reflects on the shortcomings in the creation,draws lessons,and provides guidance for future creation.The conclusion section summarizes the content of the entire article and proposes new prospects for the development of the narrative system of Chinese humanities documentaries and the responsibilities borne by documentary workers.
