| Chinese modern society is poor and weak,and the people have suffered from war and chaos.Chinese people with lofty ideals are striving to find a way to save the country.The trend of "the Eastward Spread of Western Learning" is rising in Chinese society.Traditional Chinese ideology and culture have been impacted by Western ideology and culture.And with the abolition of the the Imperial Examination System at the end of the Qing Dynasty,traditional books and academic methods were gradually questioned,and people had many questions about which books to read and how to do academic research.Under this background,recommended bibliography,as a tool for recommended books and academic research,has gradually attracted the attention of modern scholars.During the period of the Republic of China,the "Ten Required-Read Books for Young People" in the "Peking News Supplement" became a hot phenomenon in the list of recommended books,and attracted various debates in the academic circle.It can also be seen that the newspapers and periodicals of the Republic of China,as a "new media",have great influence.Therefore,based on the literature carrier of newspapers and periodicals in the Republic of China,this paper collects the purpose of recommendation books in newspapers and periodicals in the period of the Republic of China.From the two aspects of the compilation structure and content characteristics of the purpose of the recommendation,this paper analyzes and interprets the compilation style of the purpose of the recommendation,the author of the recommended bibliography,the recommended object and the recommended theme.Finally,it puts the recommended bibliography in the background of the Republic of China,and discusses the characteristics of the recommended bibliography in reading culture,ideological culture,political environment and social change.The research is mainly divided into the following four points:(1)Collect the recommended bibliography in the newspapers and periodicals of the Republic of China.Using the modern literature database-"Complete Library of Modern Chinese Newspapers and Periodicals",with the bibliography as the theme,carry out fuzzy retrieval and precise retrieval,and then supplement the relevant recommended bibliography by browsing key newspapers and periodicals.The collection results were comprehensively browsed,and duplicate or irrelevant articles were removed.Finally,237 recommended bibliographies were obtained and sorted out in the order of publication time.The results are presented in Appendix A of the article.(2)Analyze the compilation characteristics of recommended bibliography during the Republic of China.First of all,through the overview of the recommended bibliography,using the method of case analysis,select the representative recommended bibliography for analysis and interpretation,namely Wu Mi’s "Essential Bibliography of Western Literature" and "Music Book of Western Literature" ",Liang Qichao’s "Introduction to Sinology Books and How to Read",the "Ten Required-Read Books for Young People" in the "Peking News Supplement",and Qi Sihe’s "British History Books".This paper discusses the background and compiling style of the book,it is found that the compilation style of recommended bibliographies in the period of the Republic of China mainly has the following characteristics: First,the compilation structure of the purpose of recommendation in the period of the Republic of China is relatively complete;The second is that the content summary of books in the recommended bibliography is detailed and appropriate;Third,in the recommended bibliography of the Republic of China,the selection of books pays more attention to practicality;Fourth,in the arrangement of books,the category structure of bibliography is reasonable and scientific.(3)Explore the content characteristics of the recommended bibliography during the Republic of China.Firstly,through literature research,this paper makes a statistical analysis on the native place information,life and professional background of the recommended bibliographic authors,and finally collects the relevant information of 90 recommended bibliographic authors.Secondly,in terms of the object of the recommendation,most of the recommended bibliographies in the period of the Republic of China were mainly students and young people,as well as women,Kuomintang Party members,police,teachers and so on.Finally,among the topics of recommended bibliography,because there are many topics of recommended bibliography in newspapers and periodicals of the Republic of China,and the subject topics involved are also very complex,the use of unified classification standards will lose the multi-level historical significance behind it,and the theme is rich.Therefore,combined with the background of the times,the recommended bibliographies are summarized and classified,including those related to social sciences such as economics,political science and library science,as well as a small number of recommended bibliographies related to natural sciences such as astronomy and chemistry;There are not only the bibliography of Sinology related to Chinese traditional thought and culture,but also the recommended bibliography introducing the history of Western literature.(4)Analyze the social and cultural significance of the recommended books during the Republic of China.Using the relevant theories of reading history research--"text sociology" and "reading politics",combined with the historical and cultural background of the Republic of China,this paper discusses the social and cultural characteristics of the recommended bibliography,mainly as follows: First,at the level of recommended books and reading culture,it shows the regional characteristics of recommended books during the Republic of China,and shows the cultural prosperity of Jiangsu,Zhejiang,Hunan and Guangdong and Guangxi regions since modern times.The influence reflects the imbalance of cultural development.At the same time,from the perspective of time,there were two peaks in the number of recommended bibliographies during the Republic of China.The first peak appeared in 1923-1925,and the second peak appeared in 1931-1937.Second,in terms of recommended bibliography and ideological and cultural aspects,the recommended bibliography shows the scientific rigor,truth-seeking and pragmatism,courage to question,free criticism,integration of Chinese and Western,and inclusive academic attitude of the scholars of the Republic of China,and also shows the traditional Chinese thought during the Republic of China.Culture seeks self-establishment in the conflict.In the 1920 s,intellectuals listed the recommended bibliography of Sinology,sticking to traditional Chinese ideology and culture,and Western academic ideas also showed a trend of diversified input,which was mainly manifested in the modern "discipline and study".The input of Western academic system,the influence of Western Marxism,anarchism and other social thoughts on Chinese society;thirdly,in terms of recommended bibliography and political environment,the recommended bibliography reflects the political and cultural influence of the Republic of China on the ideology of student youth groups to a certain extent.At the same time,the generation of recommended bibliography was also guided and controlled by the ruling class of the Republic of China;fourthly,in terms of recommended bibliography and social change,the recommended bibliography revealed the social changes during the Republic of China,which was reflected in the fact that female groups received modern education and broke through the traditional ideological change of the feudal ethics and ethics of "Three Guidelines and Five Constants" and "Three Obedience and Four Virtues" has also changed the research consciousness of the Chinese people,and gradually paid more attention to the study of Japan and the Japanese.Finally,combined with the compilation style and content characteristics of recommendation books in the period of the Republic of China,this paper puts forward the following reference suggestions for the compilation of recommendation books today: first,at the level of compilation style,one should consider whether books can be easily obtained when selecting books;Second,when arranging books,we should pay attention to from shallow to deep and from general to specialized;Third,when writing the summary,we should introduce the books as completely as possible;Fourth,diversified communication carriers should be used when publishing recommended bibliographies.Secondly,at the content level,one is to enrich the group types of recommended bibliographic authors;Second,consider the knowledge level and learning ability of the recommended object;The third is to choose the recommended bibliographic theme close to reality. |
