| Suzanne Valadon is one of the outstanding modern female artists in France, who has made rich contributions to the early 20 th century art circle in France. This paper starts from the family theme in her figure painting, and combines her unique artistic growth experience to analyze the causes of her distinctive artistic language, and interpret the rich image information in the screen.Valadon,a working-class born master, did not receive good basic training in art,but her experience as a model for art masters gave her the most direct way to contact painting. With the encouragement of Renoir,Degas and others,Valadon learned to become a painter by himself and integrated rich emotions into his creation.Compared with the family figure painting with warmth and sweetness as the model in the 18 th and 19 th centuries,Valadon’s painting presents more complexity and realism spirit. It includes the perspective beyond maternity, the panic of adolescent girls and the nostalgia of women for the past years. In a word,Valadon presents her feelings for her family with rich colors and solid shapes as an artist’s objectivity. The images full of antagonism and the addition of symbolic elements bring more interest to the works. At the same time,in addition to the analysis of her artistic language and the interpretation of her pictures, this paper also discusses her influence on the painting art of the same period. |
