Wang Jiusi(1468-1551),character Jing Fu,called Mei Bei,was a native of Shanxi’s Shanxi district(now Huxian). He was one of the "First Seven Sons",an opera singer and poet of the mid-Ming Dynasty. He lived a lifetime of unsuccessful service and was dismissed in his prime due to the case of Liu Jin.He lived in the countryside for decades, putting his emotions into his literary creation and wrote sixteen volumes of Mei Bei Collection and three volumes of Mei Bei Sequel. The existing ripple pattern collection was compiled by his eldest son Wang Ying during his lifetime, and later published by his disciple Wang Xian in the twelfth year of Jiajing, and has been handed down to this day.The three volumes of the Sequel were published by Weng Wanda in Wang Jiusi’s later years. The two collections contain a total of over 700 poems in various genres. This thesis is a study of the poetic texts of Wang Jiusi and is divided into two main sections:The second part is the poetry proofreading. This thesis takes the more refined "Mei Bei Collection " and "Mei Bei Sequel" collated by Jia Sanqiang and Jiang Ni in the ninth series of "Integration of Ancient Documents in Shaanxi" as the working base, the photocopy of the sequel to the Four Treasury Books(Ming Jiajing engraved by Chongzhen and repaired),the photocopy of "Shengming Hundred Poems" in "Ming Other Collected Works" and the copy engraved by Wang Xian and others in the twelfth year of Ming Jiajing(electronic scanned version)as the reference text, and also refers to other related documents to make a meticulous collation and proofreading of the 700 poems in "Mei Bei Collection " and "Mei Bei Sequel".The 700 poems in the Sequel are meticulously collated and proofread, with corresponding explanatory captions and annotations. The explanations are mainly about the names of people, places and the emotional content of the poems, the background of the composition when necessary, the influence of previous generations, and the dating of those that can be dated.Notes include important allusions, historical facts, names of people, officials, places and difficult words, etc.,with hanyu pinyin for out-of-the-ordinary words.
