New Interpretation Of Children Theme Painting In Contemporary Figure Painting Creation

Children represent hope and represent the future.Their purity and childlike innocence can easily infect the public,so many painters in ancient and modern are always willing to paint such subjects.In the history of Chinese figure painting,works depicting children appeared very early.Children theme paintings were called "baby play pictures" in ancient times.These works depict the scenes of children playing and gaming,and the pictures are vivid and full of childlike fun.Children theme figure paintings emerged as early as the Warring States Period,and in the Han Dynasty,the pictures of filial sons depicted on "stone relief" and "portrait brick" seemed to be telling ancient and beautiful children’s stories.During the Wei,Jin,Southern and Northern Dynasties,figure painting developed gradually.Gu Kaizhi’s "Admonitions of the Instructress to Court Ladies" and "The Martyr’s Renzhi Tu" both had children’s images.Gu Kaizhi emphasized "depicting spirits with shapes" in figure paintings,and began to pay attention to the depiction of children’s verve.Figure painting became more mature in the Tang Dynasty,famous artists came out in large numbers,and the division of painting is becoming increasingly obvious.During this period,the famous painter Zhang Xuan’s "Mrs.Guo Guo’s Spring Tour" and "Tao Lian Tu" all depicted children’s images.The details of the characters and expressions have been further developed.The prosperous period of children’s theme was in the Song Dynasty.During this period,there were many paintings reflecting the playful life of children.The most representative was the Palace painter Su Hanchen.The children in his "Autumn Palace Baby Play" are lively and interesting.With the rise of literati paintings in the Yuan Dynasty,the number of children’s figure paintings decreased.During the Ming and Qing dynasties,spring festival woodblock pictures emerged,and the images of fat babies in different shapes were vivid and interesting,and the colors were bright,symbolizing people’s ardent expectations for a better life.With the development of the times and the advancement of science and technology,the western sketch system was introduced into China,it caused great repercussions.The thinking where Chinese painting should go has become the focus for the painters in this period.Xu Beihong and other seniors who back from overseas began to improve Chinese painting.They integrated Western artistic techniques into Chinese painting creation.After the "85 Thought",advanced artistic trends such as surrealism,postmodernism and others advanced artistic trends in the West have influenced a number of Chinese painters.In the creation of contemporary figure paintings,both the painting materials and techniques,and people’s aesthetic pursuits have undergone earth-shaking changes.So,how should the creation of children theme figure painting be developed? I think that only by adding elements of the times and constantly innovating in children theme figure paintings can they not be overwhelmed by the torrent of the times.This paper will take "Summer Childhood" as an example,highlight the feature of "new interpretation",lead topics from the generation of creative ideas and the comparative study of ancient and modern children themes,and then propose "New Interpretation" for four aspects of composition,shape,color and technique in the creation,and finally talk about the value and harvest of creation.
