Painting is a language that uses images to communicate directly.It forms different painting styles through point,line,surface painting elements and different media.The wide variety of painting types also determines the diversity of its means of expression and materials,and different materials can produce different visual styles and visual feelings.The medium of painting is an important material basis for the formation of painting language.Chinese painting uses water,ink,and rice paper as the medium to produce fantastic ink and wash effects through water dilution.Water controls ink and color to permeate the picture,creating an ethereal and elegant atmosphere.From the material point of view,western watercolor painting also uses water as the medium,and its cultural background is different from that of Chinese painting,both of which have very distinct cultural attributes and artistic styles.They have many commonalities and differences in terms of painting concepts,formal language,media materials,and expressive techniques.In the new era of diversified development of Chinese art,ink and watercolor figure paintings with water-based materials as the medium have a space for mutual integration.In the painting practice of integration and reference,after several generations of painters’ exploration and practice,it is the two different types of painting.Development continues to open up new space.Through combing and researching the development status of ink figure painting and watercolor figure painting,analyzing and comparing the typical cases of the two types of painting,the similarities and differences of creative practice and internal integration and many other phenomena,combined with the creative practice to analyze the depth of the current two types of painting Philosophical thoughts and painting concept schema language techniques have made meaningful explorations for the innovation of contemporary Chinese painting form language in the integration of Chinese and Western painting.
