As socialism with Chinese characteristics enters a new era,all walks of life are showing new signs of life.China’s advertising industry is also developing rapidly.While the growing prosperity of the advertising industry has brought many opportunities for social development,it has also been plagued by false advertising,vulgarity,vulgarity and vulgarity,money-worship,breach of integrity and other unethical practices,and it is not uncommon for advertising practitioners to violate professional ethics,which has had a great impact on the social credibility of the advertising industry.Therefore,it is of great importance to have a group of advertising designers with strong professional ideals,noble professional sentiments,professional dedication,honesty and trustworthiness,in order to improve the culture of the industry and promote the healthy development of the industry.This paper adopts the literature method,questionnaire survey method and case study method to conduct a more systematic discussion on the professional ethical failure of advertising designers in the new era.This paper conducts a four-part study as follows: the first part discusses the background and significance of the study,the current status of domestic and international research,the research methodology and the innovation points.The second part discusses the connotation of professional ethics of advertising designers,clarifies the principles of professional ethics of advertising designers and their ethical norms,and elaborates the significance of strengthening the construction of professional ethics of advertising designers in the new era.The third part analyses the manifestations of professional ethical failure of advertising designers,including the lack of integrity,weak awareness of fairness,low professional competence,prevalence of utilitarianism and lack of social responsibility;and explains the negative effects of such failure,such as undermining the normal operation of the market economy,harming the basic rights and interests of consumers,increasing the operating costs of the advertising industry,influencing the values of social subjects and hindering the normal development of social ethics.At the same time,it further analyses the reasons for the professional ethical failure of advertising designers,namely their own low comprehensive quality,the lack of professional ethics education,the inadequate internal management mechanism of the industry,the profit-driven market economy and the inadequate legal and regulatory systems.The fourth part focuses on four aspects: improving one’s own professional ethical quality,strengthening professional ethics education in schools,improving the industry’s self-regulatory mechanism,and improving relevant laws and regulations to propose ways of governance for building professional ethics of advertising designers in the new era.
