| In the network context,the meanings of animal words have changed and presented a new use.Based on the theory of language variation in sociolinguistics,this paper relies on 986 corpus collected on Sina Weibo platform,and adopts literature research method,corpus analysis method and inductive method to comprehensively analyze the semantic variation of animal words in the network context.The full text includes four chapters.The first chapter discusses the performances of the semantic variation of animal words in the Internet context.First of all,in terms of conceptual meaning variation,it adds the meanings of modification,action and name.The new modification meanings include similar meanings and trait meanings.The new action meanings include the meanings of describing actions and depicting expressions.The new name meanings include the meanings related to things and people.Secondly,at the level of color meaning,it includes the positive offset and negative offset of emotional color,as well as the transfer and reduction of image color.The second chapter summarizes the characteristics of the semantic variation of animal words in the Internet context.First of all,the new meanings are obviously related to animal entities and animal cultures.Secondly,the conceptual meanings and emotional meanings of the newly added meanings are often not clear.In addition,semantic variation is unbalanced.The familiar animal words are more likely to have semantic variation,and the degrees of development of new meanings are inconsistent.The third chapter explores the reasons for the semantic variation of animal words in the Internet context.Firstly,in the aspect of social culture,the increasing popularity of the Internet,the close social contact and the common influence of national culture and postmodern culture have promoted the semantic variation of animal words in the network context.The economic principle and analogy mechanism of language make it develop in a more time-saving,labor-saving and systematic direction.At the same time,the age characteristic of teenagers as the main users and the gender characteristic of females as the main users make the language variation particularly active and evolve towards the direction of conveying emotions and associating the shapes and movements of things.In addition,the psychological factors of users also play certain roles.The forth chapter discusses the influences of the semantic variation of animal words in the Internet context.It has some positive effects,not only promoting the development of the meanings of animal words,but also enhancing the expression effect of language.But at the same time,it will also cause the repetition of word meanings,increase the understanding barrier,violate the politeness principle of interpersonal communication,and it is not conducive to the development of children’s language.These problems need to be addressed jointly by policy,platform,education and linguists. |
