In the history of oil painting development,the creation of the main body of creation that reflects the social conditions of the historical stage and the atmosphere of each era is an important painting theme that records the changes of the times and the trajectory of human life.At the same time,architecture as a "solidified art" reflects the differences in social development in different regions in historical time and space.Architectural oil paintings have the characteristics of "monumentality" that transcend the times because of the eternal nature of architecture.How is this monumentality generated? How to behave? What about the characteristics? What principles do we follow in the creation of architectural themed oil paintings? This is the main research content of this article.The first chapter of this article discusses the current research status of monumental painting techniques in architectural oil paintings at home and abroad,and systematically expounds the origin of the concept of "monumentality".During the development of architectural landscape oil painting,monumental painting techniques were used to promote religion and politics,and then gradually developed into the themes of painting creation,as well as the evolution of domestic monumental painting techniques from the early days of New China to contemporary painting.The second chapter starts with an in-depth study of the application of monumental painting techniques in architectural landscape oil painting from foreign painting genres,and sorts out the evolution of the content and painting expressions of works in different periods.At the same time,it compares and analyzes the creation of monumental paintings in China.The way of presentation in different periods.Chapter Three describes the many features of monumentality in the oil painting creation with architecture as the theme,and the eternity and extension covered by it,and systematically discusses the features of monumentality in architectural landscape.The fourth chapter is based on the understanding and research of the monumental expression of architectural landscape painting,with the Potala Palace as the theme,combined with the language expression of monumental oil paintings for creative practice,and detailed description of the subject selection,conception,and process of graduation creation.
