In my personal creative experience,since 2016,the selection of sculpture materials has gradually gathered a development clue of "waste",and the media of "waste" has always occupied the core window of my artistic expression.For the need of creation,I pay attention to the waste media I can get close to in real life and transform them into my own works.In addition,there are also cases of waste art that can be felt around me,and the exchange and discussion of various courses,exhibitions and workshops related to waste media launched by the college,which are all contact with waste media in a real physical space.The writing of this paper is the virtual dimension of waste search.Here,the text search of "waste" media in the concept of cross media sculpture art will be carried out.The research in this paper follows the discourse genealogy of waste media in art history and art theory,which is the historical perspective of artists and art theorists,involving three key words: media,ready-made products and waste.First,the key words about the media will slightly mention the subject myth and the modernist art of media self-discipline.In the history of modernist art,art is divided into painting,sculpture,printmaking,photography,film,music and so on in the categories of the media.After the postmodernist art that broke the cognition of single media,the art of this period advocated media heteronomy and the aesthetic field of phenomenology,and the division structure of single media was broken.The second is the key words about ready-made products.Although the earliest practice of the creation of ready-made products can be traced back to the sculpture of De Gas,the history of the legitimacy of this medium comes from the collectivism that regained the creative method of Dadaism and pop art in the avant-garde art movement in the 1950s-1960 s,and the philosophy of "material orientation" that later summarized the art of ready-made products(Arthur C Danto et al).The third is the key words about waste,involving the desire for new media in the futuristic sculpture declaration,the patchwork of collectivism on waste,and the historical clues of poverty art on the empowerment of cheap materials.The writing of this paper: there are two clues about "the search for waste".One is from the real space I contact with,including my creative practice and thinking about cross-media sculpture,as well as the communication and contact with teachers,classmates and friends;the other comes from the search for art history and theory in the text virtual space.In the writing of this paper,these two clues are not two distinct discussion clues,but a way to supplement practice(perception)with theory and confirm theory with practice(perception).The two clues are integrated with each other and outline the way to find waste in the process of my study of cross-media sculpture.
