Expression Of Chinese Flower-and-bird Painting Colors In The Contemporary Cultural Context

As one of the main genres of Chinese painting,the study of color in flower-and-bird painting has always been an ongoing topic.In today’s society,multiple cultures are intertwined,artistic ideas are more free,and art forms are more diverse,which provides a fertile ground for the development of flower-and-bird painting.However,modern fast-paced living,vast amounts of information,and empty spiritual landscapes make people pay more attention to works that have visual appeal and emotional resonance.Moreover,with the increasing integration and competition between cultures,this undoubtedly places new demands on the creation of flower-and-bird painting.To meet the challenges of such a cultural context,it is necessary to actively utilize the visual effects and emotional attributes of color in flower-and-bird painting,to enhance its external charm and internal emotions through color,and to combine modern color theory with traditional Chinese painting.This should be done while inheriting tradition and developing one’s own personality,continuously adapting to society’s pursuit of beauty,closely following the themes of the times,and keeping up with the times.This will further guide and define new concepts of beauty in the new era,allowing flower-and-bird painting to continue developing and extending through innovation and creating more excellent works that meet contemporary aesthetic and spiritual needs.The main content of this paper is to systematically discuss the development of contemporary flower-and-bird painting color application based on the language of color in flower-and-bird painting,including the use of traditional color language,the influence of Chinese folk art on contemporary flower-and-bird painting color language,and the reference to Western painting color theory.In addition,it will thoroughly examine the expression of color in flower-and-bird painting in the context of contemporary culture,analyzing the application of color,materials,and painting techniques,and exploring the practical expression of color form.Finally,through the author’s own works,this paper will further explore the application of contemporary flower-and-bird painting color language in creation by linking theory with practice.
