Printmaking has a history of over a thousand years and is an ancient art form.Throughout this long history,many excellent printmakers have emerged.As a long-standing art genre,the themes and techniques of copperplate printing have been constantly changing with the development of technology.Nowadays,the public’s understanding of copperplate printing is also different from before.With the popularization of the Internet,the dissemination and influence of copperplate printing have also increased,and the public’s familiarity with it has also increased,bringing new vitality to contemporary art.Copper engraving is a highly technical and technical art medium that requires a large amount of skilled creative techniques during the plate making process.Most copperplate paintings mainly focus on line erosion,supplemented by flying dust.At the same time,other techniques are reasonably selected based on the desired effect of the picture,such as the Meirouting technique,sugar water technique,soft wax technique,oil float technique,etc.,making the texture effect of copperplate paintings more colorful.In the application of many techniques,accidental effects are always produced,which can keep the production process in a creative state and have great significance for the performance of the work.Accidental effects have gradually evolved from not receiving the attention of creators at the beginning to becoming the focus of attention for painters in their creations.Because prints have their own special artistic language,various prints have different effects due to different materials and tools.In the creation process of copper engraving,contingency accompanies every link of creation.This paper uses the methods of literature survey,experimental analysis and image analysis to study the contingency in the creation process of copperplate painting,and explore more possibilities of the accidental effect of copperplate painting.Make the accidental effect in the creation not be ignored as "mistakes",and make full use of the characteristics of contingency to enrich the creation of copperplate.This paper first discusses the relationship between contingency and necessity.Secondly,analyze the accidental effects generated in each creative process,including the different characteristics presented by the accidental effects during material selection,production,and printing.In addition,contingency is fully used in the creation of copperplate paintings to stimulate creative inspiration,and contingency and inevitability are combined to enrich the original texture effect of the screen and the sense of hierarchy of the screen.Finally,elaborate on the emergence and application of accidental effects in various stages of the creation of the copper engraving "Seeking".
