In the Early Ming Dynasty,ethnic relations were complex.The rulers actively formulated relevant policies with both grace and power.One of its important components is to develop minority education.The education policies for ethnic minorities in the early Ming Dynasty,as an important component of the Ming Dynasty’s ethnic policies,were rich in content,distinctive in characteristics,and had a prominent role.Therefore,it is necessary to conduct research on them.Based on this,this paper takes it as the research object,and discusses the guiding ideology,main contents,characteristics and functions of educational policy.The introduction includes the research purpose,research significance,research status,research methods and innovations of educational policy in minority areas in the Early Ming Dynasty.And it defines relevant concepts.The text is divided into three chapters.Chapter 1: This part analyzes the complex and severe background of ethnic relations in the Early Ming Dynasty.The rulers developed minority education with the ideology of giving priority to the talents and education.Chapter 2: This part expounds the content of educational policy for ethnic minorities in the Early Ming Dynasty.The content includes two aspects: setting up schools and opening imperial examinations.The former includes encouraging the children of local officials to study in the National Academy and establishing schools at all levels and in ethnic minority areas.The latter includes the preferential policies of the Ming government,such as unifing examination standards,the nearby Provincial examination,selecting scholars by districts,and prohibiting "MAO JI".Chapter 3: This part summarizes the characteristics and functions of the educational policy for ethnic minorities in the Early Ming Dynasty.Its characteristics are mainly in three aspects.The first point is that the teaching content is mainly Confucianism.The second point is to govern according to local conditions and customs.The third point is to combine goodness with prestige and to reward heavily and punish gently.These educational policies have three functions.It promoted the cultural development of ethnic minority areas.strengthened the rule of the Ming government over ethnic areas,consolidated the regime in the Early Ming Dynasty,enhancing the identity of ethnic minorities with Confucian culture,and contributing to the consolidation and development of a unified multi-ethnic country.Of course,the educational policy of developing ethnic minority areas in the Early Ming Dynasty also has certain historical limitations.Take history as a mirror to know the rise and fall.Summarizing the educational policies for ethnic minorities in the Early Ming Dynasty has certain enlightenment significance for the current ethnic education problems in China.
