The research object of this paper is problems that may be encountered in piano tuning and piano adjustment in the piano repair and manufacturing field.The problems that appeared are further analyzed,attributed,and handled to the according causes.Piano tuning and piano adjustment are the basic problems faced by piano tuning and adjustment majors.Studying and analyzing these problems is of great significance to the study and research of this major.This thesis is to emphasize the correct understanding of piano tuning,compliant tuning operating sequence,and accurate adjusting skills;Generate a deep understanding of specific training techniques;Have a correct understanding of the test of the third and sixth degree of the piano’s twelve mean rhythms;The application of frequency doubling could make the overall temperament curve of the piano conform to the vocal characteristics of the piano and human hearing.And the most important procedures in the adjustment work of the Steinway piano,such as the accurate grasp and application of keyboard frame leveling,set off,after touch,hammer blow distance,key frame adjusting and voicing.The difficulty of piano tuning and adjustment is to improve the accuracy of tuning and the stability of piano intonation,focusing on the steps and methods of verification;A correct understanding of the mechanics and the method of using the adjustable wrench should be developed to better identify the problem,improve the operation method and auditory judgment;Steinway piano is one of the highest evaluated pianos in the world.Its timbre and texture are in a class by Steinway itself.Therefore,Steinway’s adjustment process is complex with a strict sequence.Otherwise,the expected texture and vocal effect would be hindered.
