As a pipa solo piece composed by pipa player and composer Chen Yin in 2007,"Dance of the Mountains" is a pipa solo piece with strong characteristics of minority music style in the southwest region,with its innovative and unique composition and rich design of performance techniques.The long history of humanities and diverse geography in the southwest of China,and the stable living conditions of multi-ethnic groups living together for a long time have provided fertile soil for the formation of folk culture and folk art in the southwest,which has led to the active development of folk music in the southwest.In the composition of "Dance of the Mountain",the composer borrowed folk songs and dances of Guizhou’s ethnic minorities as musical materials,and developed and broadened them on this basis.With its distinctive musical images and diverse performance techniques,"Dance of the Mountains" promotes the development of the pipa art by highly integrating local musical styles with the musical vocabulary of the pipa.This article examines the musical style and performance techniques of the pipa solo work "Dance of the Mountains",analyzing the musical style involved in "Dance of the Mountains" as well as the performance techniques that reflect the characteristics of this musical style.It is hoped that this work will provide a reference and a reflection when it comes to performance practice. |
