Rhythm of the Mountains was composed by Chen Yin in 2009.The piece was inspired by folk music from ethnic groups such as Miao and Buyi, popular in the Southern West region in China.Through the analysis of its musical form, this paper tries to understand the composer's creation intention and realize the perfect integration of ethnic music elements and Pipa performance in the works.Through the analysis of playing techniques and my own experience,I realized that as a Pipa player, only by fully understanding the connotation of the music, grasping the elements of minority music, and integrating the performance skills and emotional expression, can the unique national style of such instrumental music be accurately presented in performance when performing works with ethnic themes.
