Research On The Artistic Characteristics And Singing Of Chen Tianhe’s Art Songs

Chinese art song composition has gone through a century of development to date,The first peak of Chinese art songs was reached in the 1930 s,when a large number of high-caliber art songs were composed by outstanding composers,demonstrating the profound cultural heritage of the Chinese nation.As a famous composer and music educator in modern China,Mr.Chen Tianhe devoted his life to his passion for music and made great contributions to the development of Chinese music in the fields of composition,theory and education.The main part of this paper focuses on three aspects,starting with a brief biography of Mr.Chen Tianhe,his creative period and musical concepts,and introducing Mr.Chen Tianhe’s musical composition style.The second part of the paper presents a comparative study of three of his representative works with different styles and themes,which are highly personal in nature,namely Jiang Cheng Zi,Shan Zhong,Ai Wan Yi Wei Min Zu Jie Fang De Zhan Shi,focusing on the relationship between Lyrics and melody,as well as the structural and harmonic characteristics of the compositions.Finally,a comparative study is conducted from the perspective of song singing to further elaborate the singing skills and emotional grasp needed in singing these three works,so that the singing skills can be enriched,the emotional expression can be more delicate,and the works can be better interpreted.It also provides a theoretical reference for the majority of vocal learners,while improving their own understanding and analysis of art songs.
