As technology continues to evolve, cyberpunk culture has been given a wider scope to develop, and its combination with the medium of film is once again generating buzz among young people around the world.Cyberpunk culture originated in the West, and throughout its development, cyberpunk cinema has been full of contradictions and rebellions in terms of culture, content and context, presenting a visual spectacle of conflict and harmony. With the rise of the Four Little Dragons of Asia and the Chinese mainland’s economy,Eastern elements began to appear in the cyberpunk worldview.Typical Asian city symbols such as Chinese Hong Kong’s Kowloon Walled City,Tokyo,Japan and Korea often appear in cyberpunk films, which brought an entry point for the creation of Chinese cyberpunk genre works.Since the beginning of 2019 cyberpunk-themed games and works have been coming out of the circle, and related research literature has emerged.Notably,in 2021,the release of animations with "oriental punk" elements such as "New Gods: The Rebirth of Nezha" and "White Snake 2:The Rise of the Green Snake" has made the combination of cyberpunk elements with traditional oriental elements a new hot topic of discussion. The study of oriental elements in cyberpunk animation films has far-reaching implications for the development of Chinese cyberpunk animation films. The purpose of this paper is to summarize the specific manifestations of oriental elements in cyberpunk animated films,to find out how the style of cyberpunk has changed as a result of oriental elements, the causes of these changes, and the specific forms of presentation of oriental elements in cyberpunk animated films. The study also analyses the value and limitations of combining oriental elements with cyberpunk elements in the "oriental punk" films, and draws conclusions about the localisation of the "oriental elements" in the narrative, visual presentation and value core of cyberpunk animated films. The study also explores the value and limitations of combining cyberpunk elements The study is an attempt to explore optimal strategies for the long-term development of Chinese cyberpunk animation in a global context, and to make a theoretical contribution to the translation and export of Eastern culture.
