With the extensive application of the Internet, people’s entertainment life has undergone tremendous changes, and online games have gradually become a widely accepted and recognized way of entertainment. However, with the rapid development of the game market, the phenomenon of online game addiction has gradually surfaced, which has been paid attention by more and more researchers and professionals.Research shows that addiction to online games has become a global mental health problem over the past few decades. At present, there are relatively few researches on the relationship between online game addiction and time perception, and the players with online game addiction often have the disorder of time perception. The research on the characteristics of time perception of game addicts is helpful for education departments and guardians to conduct scientific education on juvenile players, and can provide behavioral indicators for the screening of online game addiction. Therefore,it is necessary to explore the time perception of online game addicts. At the same time, different types of game players may have different perceptual characteristics. For action game players, they need to judge and react to the environment in the game in a short period of time,so their time discrimination can be changed by the experience of the game.Based on the above considerations, this paper chooses action online game addicts as subjects to explore the characteristics and mechanisms of their time perception, providing certain data support for future related studies. In study 1,participants were screened by Posting online the Online Gaming Disorder Scale(IGDS9-SF),the adapted Internet Addiction Questionnaire(IAT),and several self-written questions related to Internet use. Finally, from the collected 963 questionnaires,39 subjects in the game addiction group and 52 subjects in the game low experience group were selected. The time perception of the two groups was measured using the modified oddball paradigm.Experiment 2(Subject group: addiction group vs.Low experience group)×3(standard stimulus type)mixed experimental design. The subjective equality point(PSE)and the difference threshold(DL)of the two dependent variables of time perception are calculated by R.Correlation analysis and variance analysis were performed in SPSS,in addition to a Bayesian test of the results of the core statistical analysis section by JASP.Study 2 included 30 participants in the gaming addiction group and 31 participants in the low gaming experience group, all from Study 1.On the basis of study 1,experiment design innovation was carried out in study 2,and the evaluation of picture stimulus materials was added at the end of the experiment.Experiment 2(subject group:addiction vs.low experience)×2(standard stimulus picture type: game-related vs..Nongame dependent)×2(standard stimulus picture titer: positive vs.negative),PSE and DL as dependent variables, were used in SPSS and JASP for analysis of variance based on null hypothesis significance test and Bayesian test, respectively. There are some inconsistencies in the results of the two studies, which generally show that:(1)All subjects(regardless of the severity level of online game addiction)had significantly longer time perception of game-related pictures than that of non-gamerelated pictures, and the effect was more significant among addicted online game players;(2)All subjects’ time perception of non-game positive images was significantly longer than that of non-game negative images, and this effect was more significant among low experience online game players.
