Minimalism was used to describe a painting style as early as the early 20 th century,and its true popularity as an artistic trend began in the visual arts field of the United States in the 1960 s.Starting from the first wave of art in painting and architecture,this concise yet rich artistic style began to permeate various forms of art,including music,novels,and even drama,film and television.In film art,French director Robert Bresson,widely regarded by film researchers as a representative of minimalist style,discusses and analyzes the power of film minimalism in his "Notes on Film Writing".In the later stage,film directors such as Michael Hanek and Yasuro Ozu also incorporated minimalist art into their films for development.Compared to classic commercial films,minimalist style films are still a niche genre that targets niche markets and is a product of the so-called "elite class".Therefore,this article first elaborates on the origin and evolution of minimalist art,starting with the concepts and definitions of minimalism in art such as painting and architecture,and analogizing the minimalist style in film art.It outlines the aesthetic characteristics of minimalist style images and summarizes the audio-visual and linguistic features of minimalist style images.At the same time,analyze and elaborate on the forms of minimalist style images,including narrative,to study the expression of emotional motivations and ideological connotations contained within such a formal framework.At the same time,interactive analysis and comparison will be conducted between minimalist style images and Eastern aesthetics,establishing a bridge between the popular minimalist image style in the West and Eastern aesthetics.Divergent analysis of minimalist aesthetics is conducted from the surface to the inside,connecting the meaning and charm of form to the aesthetic level. |
