The Phonetics Study On Hakka Dialect Used By The Group Of Vietnam Returned Overseas Chinese In Zhaoqing Dawang Overseas Chinese Farm

44 years ago,under the influence of Chinese exclusion,Zhaoqing Dawang Overseas Chinese Farm was established to accommodate the Vietnamese Returned Overseas Chinese.In this language community,Hakka dialect is commonly used by the group of Vietnam Returned Overseas Chinese.The dissertation takes the phonetics of the Hakka dialect spoken by the Vietnamese Returned Overseas Chinese from Dawang Overseas Chinese Farm as our research object,combining the method of traditional linguistics and questionnaire survey to grasp the language life of the Returned Overseas Chinese in a macro perspective.Then,based on the materials of the field investigation,we analyze the phonetics of the Hakka dialect used by the Returned Overseas Chinese from diachronic and synchronic aspects.Through the comparison and analysis,we reveal the inheritance and variation of Hakka dialect among the group of Vietnam Returned Overseas Chinese,and further predict its development trend.The dissertation is divided into five chapters:Chapter one: Introduction.It mainly introduces the basic situation of Zhaoqing,Dawang Overseas Chinese Farm and the Vietnamese Returned Overseas Chinese.Besides,it also explains the relevant research status of this object,as well as the research purpose and investigation overview of this article.Chapter two: The phonetic systems of the Hakka dialect in the Vietnamese Returned Overseas Chinese.This chapter includes the phonetic system,phonetic features and some special phonetic phenomena like literary and colloquial readings.Chapter three: The comparison between Hakka dialect of the Vietnamese Returned Overseas Chinese and ancestral dialect.This chapter mainly compares the phonetic system of Hakka dialect spoken by the Returned Overseas Chinese with the Hakka dialect spoken in Fangchenggang city and Bobai County,and discusses some special phonetic features in Hakka dialect of the Vietnamese Returned Overseas Chinese and analyzes their causes.Chapter four: The intergenerational differences of Hakka dialect spoken by the Vietnamese Returned Overseas Chinese.This chapter firstly shows the language life of the Returned Overseas Chinese in Dawang Overseas Chinese Farm and the Hakka dialect’s living conditions,then explores the phonetic differences through the intergenerational comparison of Hakka dialect of the Returned Overseas Chinese and finally reveals its new phonetic features which affected by other languages and dialects.Chapter five: Conclusion.Summarizing the viewpoints of the full text and pointing out the deficiencies of this article and the prospects of future research.The research results show that the Hakka dialect is the most important communication language among the group of Vietnam Returned Overseas Chinese in Dawang Overseas Chinese Farm.And although they have been separated from ancestral place for more than one hundred years,the Hakka dialect of the Returned Overseas Chinese still remains high phonetic consistency with its ancestral dialect(Fangchenggang Hakka dialect).However,due to the influence of multiple languages and dialects in the surrounding area,Hakka dialect spoken by the descendants of Vietnamese Returned Overseas Chinese tend to incorporate the phonetic features of Cantonese dialect and Mandarin,and some phonetic characteristics from the ancestry Hakka dialect are gradually disappearing.
