With the development and spread of internet technology and mobile devices,people’s daily lives have gradually shifted from reality to the internet,with interactions in cyberspace taking up the majority of people’s daily lives,and social interactions that are inevitable for everyone occurring through the intermediary of the internet.In this context,various mobile applications and platforms with social service functions are constantly adding social elements,trying to create a new product model through social relationships between users.Internet literature,which originated from the Internet,is highly social and interactive,providing readers with social and interactive functions.As the number of readers of Internet literature increases,reader interaction in the process of reading Internet literature becomes richer and more diverse.In this study,when exploring the interaction of readers of Internet literature,based on the theory of social interaction,Zhihu was selected as a representative Internet literature reading platform and studied through a questionnaire survey to explore the relationship between readers’ interaction,readers’ perceived platform availability and readers’ perceived social interaction in Zhihu’s Internet literature reading.The study found that21.98% of reader interactions in the reading of Zhihu Internet literature were social interactions,and that this social interaction was a social interaction mediated by the internet.Reader interaction has a significant positive effect on readers’ perceived platform availability and social interaction;readers’ perceived platform availability has a significant positive effect on their perceived social interaction;readers’ perceived platform availability mediates the effect of reader interaction on their perceived social interaction,all of which are supported by the research hypotheses of this study.Reader interaction is a prerequisite for readers to perceive social interaction in reading Internet literature,and platform availability also plays an important role in influencing readers’ perceived social interaction.Reading applications and platforms should strive to increase reader interaction participation and better perceive platform availability in the future,so as to enhance readers’ perceived social interaction in reading Internet literature.The contribution of this study is to measure readers’ perceived social interactions through the definition of social interactions,while the mediation mechanism of platform availability reveals how readers perceive social interactions in Internet literature interactions.
