Extreme degree complement is a special kind of complement in modern Chinese.It is mainly used after some adjectives or verbs and generally as the predicate,indicating that the characteristics or state of a certain thing has reached a very high degree.Extreme degree complement is often used in our daily life,so it becomes an inevitable content for Chinese learners to master.However,due to its complicated grammar rules,students are more likely to make mistakes.At present,the researches related to extreme degree complement are mostly concentrated in syntax,semantics and pragmatics.Linguists have conducted a lot of research on the language ontology of extreme degree complement,but only a few achievements have been achieved in teaching Chinese as a foreign language.According to the syntactic,semantic and pragmatic study of extreme degree complement “极、死、透、坏”,to intermediate Chinese learners whose mother tongue is English as the research object,and using the research methods of comparative analysis,find out the similarities and differences,and comparing it to extreme degree complement in English,identifying the difference in expression.This research is based on the sentences of “ 极 、 死 、 透 、 坏 ” collected in the inter-language Corpus,combined with the corpus collected in the questionnaire,collecting,screening,statistics,finishing,and analyzing the types and the main causes of the errors when students learn extreme degree complement.The errors were divided into five types,including omissions,addition error,error generation,wrong order and avoiding,where the proportion of error generation is the largest,omissions and addition error the second larger,and the proportion of wrong order and avoiding is relatively small.Then,according to the situation in the questionnaire survey,the cause of the errors is found: the complexity of extreme degree complement,learner’s individual factors,and external environment.Based on this,from the three aspects of teachers,students and the textbooks,a number of corresponding teaching suggestions have been proposed,and designed appropriate classroom teaching programs,ultimately in order to ensure the scientific of the program,through the way of setting the control group and experimental group,in order to verify its rationality and effectiveness,so as to provide reference for future teaching work and related textbooks.
